3 Tips To Fully Transform Your Pantry Space!

Hey ya’ll!

This project was a full home project I was able to tackle for a family of 4. They are extremely busy with work, school, sports, and other activities that it was hard for them to get a hold of the different spaces in the home. The pantry was no different.

Can you relate to my clients? I was able to transform their space with the tips I’m going to share with you down below. But before I do, what if I told you it’s not about getting the space you need to fix your mind on. The key is knowing how to organize it. Of course one aspect leads to another, so I’m here to give you the things you might be missing in your process.

When it’s all over, you’ll be the best meal prepper and storage finding connoisseur.

BUT WAIT!

Before you do anything, start with a clean slate. Grab some trash bags and take the tip I always indulge in first — PURGE. Get rid of those things you absolutely do not need. (check those expiration dates)

Let’s get started!

Tip #1: Be Mindful of the Packaging That Items Come In

If things are individually wrapped they can come out and be containerized in categories.

After getting rid of those things you don’t need, you can begin to put items that are alike in the same place. Oils with oils, snacks with snacks, spices with spices, etc. One item I highly recommend is a Lazy Susan.

And it’s not so lazy. This will help aid in getting to things you’ve taken out of those packages quickly.

You want to maximize the space in your pantry especially when space is limited.

Tip #2: Utilize Vertical Spacing to Clear the Floors

Get rid of things on the floor by using door racks, taller shelving, etc. Sometimes the most obvious use of vertical space is to lean in to what it means to “go up”. What we want to do is make the best use of shelving and the use of containers.

If you have doors on your pantry, hang organizers over them to free up shelf space. Canned goods, spices, oils and jars are usually good fits for these types of organizers

If you have it, wall space can be a game-changer for organizing a pantry. Hooks can hold non-food items like aprons, brooms and reusable shopping bags. You can use a bag dispenser to hold grocery bags and keep them within reach

And I know you’re asking so, here is another storage container for you to marvel at while transforming your pantry space.

Tip #3: Use products that aid in greater functionality.

Store food in baskets and bins to save space. Odd-shaped packages and bags fit easier in storage containers. Clear plastic or glass canisters with sealed lids are ideal for storing decanted dry foods.

These products streamline a space and make it Pinterest worthy.

And you guessed it, I have one last storage product you can look into!! Make sure to honor your budgetary needs when researching different products.

Your pantry could get disorganized after time. Here’s what you want to do:

Always put items back in their appropriate spot, and get the whole family on board by keeping food accessible and visible. Twice a month make sure everything is clean and in its place so you don’t have to spend hours organizing it again
