3 Tips to Start your Fitness Journey

Hey y’all!

So I wanted to pop in to share with you guys my committment back to fitness. Prior to my journey into entrepreneurship I was a gym junkie!

I’m talking hitting the gym 2x a day, before work and after! I was killing it. I absolutely loved the energy of being in the gym and loved seeing the transformations I was making within my body. I mean ya girl was crankin’ out 1-armed pulled ups!

And then, I became more vested in growing Tidied by K! Fitness sadly went down the drain over time. Day in and day out, all I could think about was my business- so much to the point that I completely stopped going to the gym. I went from just doing once a day to every other day, eventually to maybe twice every two weeks.

Talk about out of whack. And then… COVID-19. Once quarantine took over, my fitness was practically non-existent. I couldn’t force myself to work out at home, and my favorite past-time turned into a never ending hobby of opening up that fridge or pantry door!

3 Tips to Start your Fitness Journey

Y’all, my weight started to sky rocket! I’m talking about a good ole quarantine 25. Over the course of launching Tidied by K and COVID-19, I have gained 25 pounds!

So, no more! I’m sharing with you all 3 things I’ve started to regain my fitness and health since COVID-19.

I’ve set goals for my fitness journey

I realize that I was my happiest self when I felt fit and healthy. My goal is to get back there. It’s to make my happiness a priority, and I know that when I look and feel my best, I’m at my happiest. That’s the goal- take the necessary steps to get back fit and healthy.

Hire a trainer

Just like one would hire me to organize their home, I’ve hired a personal trainer to get me back RIGHT! I know that I lack the accountability to do this by myself, which is why I’m here, I know there are exercises my trainer will teach me that will develop my strength in different areas and will build my endurance to help me achieve my goals. For me, being held accountable to my happiness goals is important and worth the investment.

Change my diet & cook more

I’ve been vegan for going on 5 years, but over the course of my entrepreneurship journey and COVID-19, I’ve done an EXCELLENT job at finding all the unhealthy vegan goodies! Oreos, Cracker Jack’s, vegan ice-cream, the whole nine… I’ve got it down packed lol. But I realize again, that the happiest version of myself can not eat ice cream for breakfast! I just can’t. I’ve been changing my diet and getting back in the kitchen which has been super key in my fitness journey.

Don’t “celebrate” the weekends!

I’ve had the worst idea to “celebrate” the weekends. Meaning, every weekend I’d reward myself for all the hard work I did during the week and I’d binge all the yummies I didn’t eat throughout the week. It was so counterproductive and would practically erase all the hard work from the week. What I do know is allow the things I want in my daily eating routine, but in moderation. Moderation is honestly the secret answer and has been my saving grace, even on the weekends

I’m hoping these tips have been helpful for you and that you can apply them to your fitness journey!

Peace & love, friend!
