4 Efficient Small Bedroom Organization Ideas: Tour My Room
If you’ve ever wondered what a professional organizer’s bedroom looks like, here’s your chance to be a bit nosy! I’m giving you a full tour of my bedroom and highlighting the furniture and organizing products I use to add function to my space. My Bedroom Furniture:
First, let’s take a look at the furniture pieces in my bedroom. Here’s what I have set up:
1. A Storage Bed: Because my bedroom is small, I wanted to add a multi-functional bed to the space. The two drawers in my bed store a majority of my workout outfits and they are further organized with adjustable drawer organizers. I’m all about maximizing storage in any way possible.
2. A wardrobe from IKEA: One closet is just not enough! This stores my high heels, undergarments (which are in baskets), extra shoes (organized with shoe space savers), and seasonal items like gloves, scarves, and hats.
3. A storage trunk from Ross Dress for Less: This piece houses a few bins that help me further categorize and organize extra clothes that don’t fit in my bed and dresser drawers. This also doubles as a seating area in my bedroom–I’m all about a multifunctional, affordable find.
4. A Dresser: This is clearly for the majority of my clothes. All of my drawers are categorized and labeled and separated with adjustable drawer organizers.
The idea behind my furniture selection was to find items that were multifunctional, aesthetically pleasing, and met the needs of storing all of my bedroom items.
When sourcing items—whether you’re shopping for furniture or organizational products—you’ll want to ensure they’re practical, functional, and accessible. If a dresser is beautiful but offers limited drawer space, it’s probably in your best interest to skip it and find a piece that is a bit more substantial.
All of the systems in my bedroom meet these three requirements outlined above. I do keep track of how everything is looking, though, and if I notice that my organization systems are getting a bit difficult to maintain, I’ll double check my inventory and quantity of items. Sometimes I accumulate more that fits the space, and it makes it more challenging to stay neat and tidy. When that happens, I make sure to declutter things I have outgrown or no longer love, use, or need.
